Domains
Every home page in the internet will need a domain. By that name, then your site is accessible worldwide on the internet.
It is advantageous if this domain has a reference to the content. Thus, even for internet users and search engines, it is easier to produce a reference later on the page.
You should have already thought of the domain name when you set out to find a web host. You need to check whether your preferred name or your domain is still available, you can use the domain check to find out instantly free.
The Personal Domain
With its own domain on the internet, the site can have many advantages, not only for companies but also for individuals. Therefore, a domain, for many internet user today, is almost a matter creativity. Here is a small summary of what you need to know about the domain.
Change of Ownership
Basically. The domains are transferable, that is, the domain of the domain holder can transfer to another buyer, which is then recorded as the new domain owner.
The domain owner informs his provider about the intended transfer of the domain and the desire of the future owner to change providers. At the same time, he needs an issued statement, the provider change it once it is confirmed. The new domain owner has to come in agreement with the current domain owner. After that, he will acquire the domain name. He will then ask to initiate the domain transfer of the domain.
Register a Domain
If you want to register a domain, you can usually apply directly to the provider.
It is always possible to register directly with DENIC, but the cost for a direct registry with DENIC is about 10 times higher.
Notation and symbols
A domain name must be at least 3 up to 63 characters long. Exceptions to this are currently in litigation, such as VW. But this does not affect the normal mortal website operators. Special characters are not possible. Since 2006, in Germany, umlaut domains are used. Minus sign or hyphen in the first or last place are also NOT allowed.
Domain names and legal
In the meantime, the domains trademark law must be observed. Therefore, caution must be observed with the name brands.
In terms of full names and brand names, these are still considered identical when separated by spaces or hyphens. Similarly, caution is advised in texts and contents. This may not be easily copied, as they are also subject to copyright. Ignorance is no excuse before you publish your texts and domains.
Deletion
To delete an existing domain, please contact your provider. Be specific as possible so that the provider can see clearly what is your intention. Formulations such as "I don’t want my domain any more" or "please switch off my domain" will be very vague for sure. Make sure that you will always state your reason for such. Such a step does not lead to deletion, since the existence of the domain itself is a contract between DENIC and the domain holder.
DENIC
DENIC is the central registry for all the German Top Level Domains. That is, virtually all domains ending with De.
It manages a resource. The administration is in sophisticated technology and consists of:
- The provision of an automatic registration system
- The operation of the database and
- The name server service for the de-zone.
